How To: Download and Install the PAX Device Security Certificate (Windows)

If you are utilizing Bluefin or Heartland for payment integration in RepairQ, you will need to download and install a Security Certificate on each computer that will communicate with a PAX device.

This tutorial will guide you through the process of downloading and installing the required certificate.


Downloading the PAX Security Certificate

1. Click this link to download the certificate. The file will be named "".
2. In the Downloads folder on your computer, double-click the downloaded certificate to begin the installation.


Installing the PAX Security Certificate

1. After opening the file, there will be a pop-up for the Certificate Import Wizard. Click "Open" to begin the process.

2. Click "Install Certificate".
3. Choose "Local Machine" as the Store Location, and click "Next".
4. If prompted to allow this app to make changes to your device, click "Yes".
5. On the Certificate Store screen, select the “Place all certificates in the following store" radio button and then click "Browse" to view a list of available certificate stores.
6. Click “Trusted Root Certificate Authorities” and click OK.
7. You should see "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" in the Certificate store field. Click "Next".
8. On the confirmation screen, click "Finish".
9. On the Success screen, click OK to finish the installation.
10. On the Certificate Information pop-up, click OK to close out.

Testing the PAX Security Certificate

1. In Chrome, browse to to verify that the browser is configured to trust the security certificate. Click on the lock (highlighted in green) to view the security certificate.

2. Click "Connection is Secure" then "Certificate is Valid"  to view the certificate.
