PAX S300 NFC Application Update

This article walks through the steps you need to follow in order to get your PAX S300 back up and running after the NFC application update.

Once RepairQ and/or Bluefin have confirmed that the NFC application update has been pushed to your PAX S300, ensure your PAX S300 is plugged into an active ethernet connection and power supply. 

  1. Power cycle the device: unplug the power cable then plug it back in. The update will be applied upon startup, and it will cycle through the update steps. Wait until you see the "Protected by Bluefin" screen.

  2. Press Func and 1 at the same time to go to the Menu 

  3. Enter the password (will be today's or tomorrow's date in this format: ddmmyyyy)

  4. Arrow down one page to and click Communications.

  5. Enter your password. 

  6. Arrow down three pages and select "LAN parameters".

  7. Select "LAN Type"

  8. Select "DHCP"

  9. Select the Back button until you are back to the "Protected by Bluefin" screen.

  10. Go back to Step 2 and follow steps 2-9, only this time, select "Static" as the LAN Type.

  11. Power off the device by unplugging the power supply cable from either the wall or the wire harness.

  12. Wait 10 seconds then power back on by plugging it back in.

  13. Press Func and 1 at the same time to get to the menu.

  14. Enter the password

  15. Arrow down one page and click "Communications".

  16. Enter the password. 

  17. Arrow down three pages and select "LAN parameters".

  18. Select "IP Address"

  19. Write down AND enter the IP into RepairQ Settings-->Payment Devices-->PAX

  20. Press the green button to get back to where you see "LAN Parameters".

  21. Select "LAN Type"

  22. Select "Static".

  23. Select the Back button until you are back to the "Protected by Bluefin" screen.

  24. Run a test in RepairQ Settings-->Payment Devices.
